Peter J. Schreiner, 64, of 219 Vermont St., Crawfordsville, was dead on arrival Thursday, June 17 in the Hendricks County Hospital at Danville, Ind. He was a retired 39-year employe at the Mid-States Steel & Wire Co. He had been retired 10 years and was a member of the 4-X Club at the firm. He was a member of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Eagles and Elks Lodge. Born Nov. 20, 1911, he was a son of Peter John and Carrie Schreiner of Crawfordsville. He was married to Helen Grimes in November 1935 in Danville, Ill. Survivors are his wife; a son, Harold of Dwight, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Young of Danville, Ill.; two brothers, Louis and Leroy both of Crawfordsville; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Services were held Monday in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. – jlr
